Good morning, my lovies!
I had some weird dreams last night, and I’m excited to say that I now have a great idea for book three of The Demon Bunny Chronicles!
But that’s not the point of this blog post.
I am writing these books for my daughter, Alex. When she entered third grade, she was only reading at a first grade level. Every parent wants to do whatever it takes to help their children succeed.
What did I do?
I decided to write a book for my sweet daughter. Occasionally, I would have a finished chapter waiting for her to read when she came home from school. It was totally awesome to watch her imagination blossom and her reading skills improve. Greatly, actually.
I am extremely excited to announce to you that Alex was tested before the summer break, and guess what! Her reading level shot up from the first grade reading level to the … DRUM ROLL … fifth grade reading level!
Now, I’m sure my book isn’t the whole reason for her extensive improvement, but I am confident that it helped her broaden her mind and open up those dams that held her back. She is writing and creating artwork every day. I am so thankful that I am able to help her reach her goals!
How do I plan to improve upon that idea?
I have decided to incorporate her fourth grade study words into the third book of this series.
I’m pleased with the idea, and I hope your children appreciate my books as much as Alex!
Sincerest regards,
Vanessa Shockley ❤
